The Naked and the Kirk

Norman Mailer is going to guest star (along with his son, Stephen) on Gilmore Girls later this season:

The prospect of working with his son,
who's appeared in "Reversal of Fortune" and "Cry-
Baby," appealed to Mailer, but he wasn't sure about
doing the cameo until he saw a few episodes of
"Gilmore Girls."

"It had taste. It was witty and well put together,"
Mailer tells USA Today. "It had a certain elan that
I liked. To my amazement, I had a fine time."

OK, as long as he doesn't sleep with Paris (or Rory, for that matter), I have no problem with this. In fact, let's drag ole Gore Vidal out and make it an episode to remember!

I suppose I brought it up, huh? Norman Mailer is a post-war American author, sort of notorious, I take it, for being sort of opinionated. A man's man. Never have made it around to reading anything he wrote, but I do know that he almost came to blows with Gore Vidal (another, less butch post-war American writer) on the Dick Cavett show.

Actually, as long as this season of Gilmore Girls doesn't have a study tree episode, I will consider it a success.

I would be happy with any number of scenarios. Maybe have Kirk and Michel fighting for their lives against a legion of flesh-eating zombies? Or have Miss Patty develope a machine to control the weather, and hold the entire world for ransom? Or have Babette and Morey turn into were-cats?

I'm at work, and I's bored.
