Like Waking Up From A Horrible Nightmare

My parents have finally sold their house, albeit for $70,000 less then they asked for at the start of this fiasco.

Now, all the S. family needs is for me to find a job. In addition to all the career jobs I've applied to, and the local part-time jobs I found on Monster, I've applied to several positions through AmeriCorps, and I got a call from LiteracyCorps in Seattle, Washington. I figure that there are worse skills I could develop as a librarian than teaching literacy and instruction skills. Plus, you know, having $4725 paid on my student loans after a year of service is rather attractive. Plus, I always wanted to live in Seattle -- or at least since I was there in 1995. I have to call the woman back tomorrow to set up a phone interview.

Season premier of Gilmore Girls is September 13! Yay!

Seattle is a great, great, great place to live. I still miss it after more than 10 years.

Hey, I have to check out Blogger's anti-comment spam stuff, what's this "type the word that you see" feature? Is that new, or is that an add-on?

I think it's new. I received a couple of comment spams (one of which I swiftly deleted, because I'm a cryptofascist, and because this is my blog), and briefly made it so that only registered users could comment. But then I noticed the "type the word..." stuff, and it works because spam is usually generated automatically, and they have no one to type that word. It's a little inconvienant, but I have no intention of sorting through comment spam.

hey.....good luck with the Seattle lead...you'll love it! Great city, lots to do and close to Canada should (shudder) the GOP win the election in 2008.
