1959, actually; I found it while I was counting the juvenile textbooks at the library. I just loved that cover, and I made an iron-on of the cover that I'm going to transfer to a shirt.
The contents are actually really surprising. The introduction encourages men to go into the profession, noting that the stereotypes about librarians were old-fashioned. And yet they're still with us. It also makes a point of noting LIS programs at historically black colleges, since the opportunities for blacks to get an LIS degree was so slim otherwise. It was quite a neat little book.

I love this 'vintage' graphic! Is it circa 1965-ish?
