Another Dream

OK, so my dreams are getting weirder lately, which I have no way of explaining. Last night, I dreamt that I was going to the ALA conference. I was still working here, at the dental lab, but I was going to fly to the conference. I was weighing investment, which I don't even do anymore, when my dad sauntered up in asked very loudly something about whether I was going to go to some program for gays & lesbians at the conference, which I had no intention to. But I was annoyed with him that he was outing me in front of the two other people I work with, both of whom are conservative Republicans, although not particularly homophobic as far as I can tell. My dad just grinned at me and backed away without turning around, which was more than a little creepy.

So cut to Detroit Metro Airport. I'm in line to get on the plane, and I look behind me and lo! it's Jessica Simpson!! I wasn't overly impressed, not being a fan, but she started to chat me up, and seemed nicer than I would have expected, so I didn't mind. Actually, I sort of liked Dream-Jessica, and she asked if I wanted to sit with her and whatnot. I said sure. The plane we got on was rather more ornate than the airplanes I am used to, with a lot of silk and tassles and pillows, with well-upholstered benches running parallel down each side of the plane. Think all those pictures of odalisques (not to be confused with Odelay) that perverted artists used to paint back in the day. Lots of drapery, sans the nudity. We were still chatting when I finally woke up.

This after a dream Sunday night where Dr. Phil caught me in an embarassing situation. What's with these B-grade celebs popping up in my dreams?

Tonight, because there is no Lost or Alias, and because this week's Gilmore Girls has been rescheduled because of a stupid Piston's game, we're having an old-fashioned Buffy night at Jolie's. (We originally started to get together to watch Buffy on Tuesdays during Season 7.) So being the group's official Buffy archivist, I have to take over all the DVDs, and then we have to agree on which episodes we want to watch. I vote for Once More With Feeling and Selfless, myself.
