Me llamo Bill?

I hurt. Yesterday we had an open house, and afterward the punk-ass realtor was telling my parents exactly why the house isn't selling, and apparently that reason is my room. So last evening, I packed all of my books up, 4 bookcases-worth, and moved the book and the bookcases to the garage. I have a shelf-and-a-half-worth of books, basically what amounts to my "To Be Read" pile, although I'm only about a third of the way through the Anthony Trollope book, and figure that I will be working through it for a while yet. (I also have two other Anthony Trollope books in my TBR pile because I've evidently lost my mind, so the idea that I'll get through them all before I move is laughable.) I also had to pack up my computer and most of my DVDs, and move them out too, and then move my bureau to the south wall, to "facilitate traffic". My room now has all the personality of a hotel room, which I think was what the realtor was hoping for. The entire thing enraged my mother, who had asked him before they even put the house on the market if they shouldn't do something along these lines; he pooh-poohed her, and thus the house has not sold. So, I think in order to lash out at the realtor, she put the Tim Biskup print I had framed on the wall of my room, so it was the first thing you see when you go into my room.

I also had to move out the reclining sofa from the living room -- that thing is severely heavy, and more than a little tacky.

The rest of the weekend I spent, when not exercising (I had a lot of energy for a lazy person this weekend), reading Spanish For Dummies in an effort to try to make myself more marketable. Futile effort, I know, but lest it be said that I'm not all about self-improvement, I offer evidence to the contrary. After laboring with German for so long (five semesters, between high school and college), with its mysteriously gendered nouns and modular verbs, Spanish is surprisingly straight-foward (so far). The tone of the book is more than a little patronizing, but then, it does have the words "for dummies" in the title, and you get what you pay for. I just keep thinking of William Blake learning Hebrew...

Actually, I did do one other, non-self-improving thing this weekend: I played PsychoNauts. That game is completely and totally awesome! I wholly recommend it for those of you with far too much free time on your hands! I really like the idea of a psychic summer camp.

Is it only on the Xbox so far, or is there a Playstation version of Psychonauts out yet?

I have it for PC, but the website says the Playstation version is "Coming Early Spring". Whatever that means.

I didn't know Tim Biskup was the genius behind GammaGo. I'm a fan of that clothing line. His prints are brillant! Love them!

Real estate people are evil. No really they are. Just think of it as "pre-packing." When it finally comes down to "the move", which is so draining and awful, you might just be glad the books and CD's are packed already!

chin up!

Yeah, I have 3 Gama-Go shirts that don't quite fit me, and a hat that's too small for my head. It sucks to come from a race of prehistoric giants! But Tim Biskup rules: I have three of his prints framed on my wall, and three of his toys now packed away in boxes.

I know I'll be glad. I'm glad now, except for the fact that I seriously underestimated the number of books I needed in my To Be Read pile. Oh well.

Lost season finale tonight!
