I'm in Michigan again, presumably for the last time as a resident. I got to see Julie, Mike, Glenn, and Katherine at dinner last night, which was nice. I then got an e-mail from Jolie informing me that she had seen my blog, that I am leaving, and what's up? So I called her, and moaned and groaned a bit while she tried to keep her puppy from eating slugs in the garden. I wish I had more time to see her, and to watch an episode or two of Buffy. She says she will probably be down in Tampa next year, after the baby is born, to visit Nussie. So, since my [extended] family has a place by Tampa and St. Petersburg, I told her I'd try to meet her there. In the meantime, she said that she will call me during the commercials during the season premier of "Gilmore Girls", so that's nice.
My car is all packed, save my computer, toiletries, and pillows. I'm ready to go, and getting nervous. Nervous about roommates, and about probably being the oldest person in the program. About the program itself. I've never done really good with adventure; all the adventures I try to take tend to end up with the prefix "mis-" in the retelling. This has ended up making me somewhat risk-averse, which isn't a great trait, but I don't know how to counteract that, other than to hold my nose and jump right in. Which is my preferred method for getting into a pool, as well.
Last night I dreamt that I ate sushi rolls made out of raw, whole baby birds. I woke up with a strange taste in my mouth.
William Rehnquist is dead. So now we have two Supreme Court fights to look forward to. Huzzah.
