THAT DAMN STORM OWES ME MONEY! Dinero, Ernesto, dinero! I missed two days of work because of it, and also had my interview with Miami-Dade Public Library on Tuesday cancelled! (I was going to try to see if it might be possible for me to get a position as a part-time, weekend librarian, so I could continue working for RCMA.) As with so many men, the storm promised so much and delivered so very little. I bet everybody who was waiting in line for 30 minutes to get gas on Monday feel very stupid.
I moved out of my apartment today, meaning I now have a carload of crap that I need to move in tonight after work. That also means only two of last year's AmeriCorps team (Daron and Ray, who will be moving on Friday after work) are left in Palm Club Apartments, thus meaning last year's service team is indeed dead and gone. I did get the chance to meet the girl who promises to be next year's Dawn (based on where she will be working), and she seemed nice, albeit very quiet. So the next team is moving in, even as I type this.
The job is going very well, although I am sort of itching to get more responsibility here. As it is, I spend all day lesson planning for two hours of class. Eventually I think I will be responsible for more office and administrative duties.
