Saturday

Woke up reasonably early today (for an unemployed Saturday) to go to the Public Market in Rochester with my cousin Cathleen. When I got to her house (after getting lost and just happening to end up in her neighborhood), my cousin Ryan and his wife and kids were there, so we all went together. I had no idea what to expect, but it turned out to be more or less a farmer's market; lots of vegetables, very inexpensive. I began collecting stuff to throw in my curry (and I use the term loosely; no one from a curry-eating country [say, England] would ever recognize what I cook as curry.). I ended up using a good portion of what I bought tonight; too often I buy vegetables only to have them go bad before I get around to using them.

After that, Cathleen gave me a tour of her house, and then offered to escort my dogs and I to the "unofficial" dog park. This went well, although Cybill's arthritis made it hard for her to hobble back to the car. She got to swim in the creek, which she doesn't have much problem with, so that was good. Zoe was all over the place, including in the creek. At one point she made off with another lab's tennis ball, but I made sure the other lab got it back.

Once I got back here, I vacuumed the pool, and then went for a swim with the dogs. My goal was to completely exhaust them; in pursuing that goal, I completely exhausted myself. I also got myself shredded; I would jump in, and they would jump in after me, and then follow me, and rip me up with their claws. My belly looks like I've had surgery.

I've been applying to local jobs through Monster and Kelly Services. I need some sort of income while waiting for a career.
