Happy New Year all!

Sorry that I haven't been posting too much on this here blog, but I'm sure you know how it is. Partly, I have a problem writing about anything that happens here because I socialize pretty exclusively with other AmeriCorps service members, and thus I feel pretty limited in what I can really say about it. I briefly considered trying to assign pseudonyms to everybody, but that sort of ends up being so much more work than I really care to put into the description of my misadventures. Plus, my identity is pretty badly hidden, so, at least in theory, someone could google my name and figure out eventually who I was talking about. Plus the chance that one of my co-workers might find it is not really worth the risk. So, at least for the time being, don't expect a whole lot from me. It turns out that a lot of my content pre-AmeriCorps was either a reaction to something I saw online, or gossip about some friends who were never clearly identified, and neither situation really applies to my life as it stands now.

Holidays were good; the highlight was recording a version of "Night and Day" with my cousin in his basement studio. I may eventually work up the nerve to share it with you all, but for now, not so much. I drove to my parents' house and back, which, in retrospect, may have not been the wisest idea, but so it goes. I came back to learn that we have a new roommate: Brian, a 29 year old guy going to school in pre-Law, completely unaffiliated with AmeriCorps. He's a nice guy, and I like him, so I don't know how much gossip I'll have on him, but here's hoping.

I had to be back to work last Tuesday, so I had to leave New York on Sunday, January 1, which really sort of sucked. The length of the trip was such that I called into work on Tuesday anyways, needing a break just from sheer exhaustion.
